OpenICE testing on a single PC
Hello,
What the most compatible OS for OpenICE, Windows or Linux ?
I want to test Open ICE with both Device Adapter and OpenICE Supervisor on the same PC. How can I do this ?
For the moment I don't have any medical device to test on it, how can I create a simulated Medical device on a PC ?

Hi Imad,
Windows will work, but we suggest using Java 1.8 update 60. It seems to work best in that environment. I've included a link to the Java SE Development Kit 8 Archive page. It should take you directly to the SDK 8u60. Select the correct download for your specific OS. Update your Java environment for jdk 1.8.60.

To simulate a medical device:
1) start the OpenICE application and click "Start ICE_Supervisor" in the bottom right corner of the window.
2) when the main window opens you will see two primary panels, "Applications" on the left and "Devices assigned to <Unassigned>" on the right. Under the right panel you will see a button "Create an ICE Device Adapter...", click it.
3) a new window will pop up. In the first drop down menu select "Simulated" if it isn't already selected, then pick a device you would like to simulate. Click "Start <device>" when it appear in the bottom right corner of the window to begin simulating data from the selected device.
4) you will see the simulated device in the "Devices assigned to <Unassigned>" panel.
5) click on the device to see the data it is simulating, then click "Exit App" in the bottom right corner of the window to return to the main window.
6) you can do 2 through 4 again to add more simulated devices to your ICE supervisor.

Hi Dylan,
I'd installed the jdk 1.8.60 that you recommended, when I choose the ICE_supervisor mode to run OpenICE the application is started but I can't see any interface, I opened the task manager and I found OpenICE process running but I couldn't see any interface.
I re-executed the app this time I'd full fill the next information :
1. Application--> ICE_Device_Interface
2. Device category--> simulated
3. Device Type--> Simulated pulse Oximeter
4. Domaine ICE --> 15
5. I click Start PO_Simulator
The application gives me two error messages
1. "Error invoking method", I click OK it gives me the second message;
2. "Failed to launch JVM"
Could you please help me on this.
